Bob was raised in Louisville, KY and graduated from Atherton High School. He received a scholarship to play football at Virginia Tech where he graduated in Distributed Education.
After he served in the military for two years with a year in Vietnam, he began his coaching career at Northside High School in Warner Robins as an assistant for three years.
He became Athletic Director and Head football coach in Baxley, GA at Appling Co. High School for five years.
He then accepted a position as Athletic Director and Head football coach at Colquitt Co. High School in Moultrie, GA for three years.
Followed by an 18 year stay as Athletic Director and Head football coach at Effingham Co. High School in Springfield, GA.
Aftger 30 years of coaching he retired and immediately took over (half days) as Athletic Director and Head football coach again in Baxley, GA. Where he coached many of his former player’s sons for four years.
Bob accepted a position at Georgia Tech as Director of High School Relations where he resided in Atlanta and worked for three years. He is married to Stella (41 years), with three children and three grandchildren. He is still involved in Georgia Tech football by attending high school clinics and working with high school coaches.
