2011 Scholarship Winners

The 2011 GADA High School Female and Male Scholarship Award Winners

The High School Female and Male Scholarship Awards are presented to seniors who have excelled in representing his/her school in athletic and academic performance in addition to civic participation and leadership. Each winner will receive a $1000.00 scholarship award and advance to the sectional selection competition.

Sophie Kathryn Harkins - Marist School
Ms Harkins distinguished herself as a scholar athlete at Marist. Some of her honors and distinctions include: Ranked top 4 academically in her class, National Merit Letter of Commendation, National Honor Society, Math Honor society, Georgia cert. of merit, student council. Accepted at Notre dame, Univ. of Ga. and Princeton-undecided.  4 yr. letterman in Track and Cross Country.  Cross Country 3x state champions, 3 top ten finishes at state, Senior year-Team Captain, Scholar athlete award,  Team Georgia-All  Metro.  Track Captain, 3 top ten finishes at state in 3200 and 1600.  she is a Eucharistic  Minister  at her church and involved in Youth Leadership Dekalb.  She also aids a Student Ambassador, Retreat Leader, and a Peer leader at Marist and serves on the school Discipline Committee.

Levi M. London - White Co. High School
Mr. London distinguished himself as a scholar athlete at White County High School. Some of his honors and distinctions include: Region 7-AAA Scholar Athlete, Top 5 Percent of Senior Class, Clemson C-Cats Leadership Program, Boys State Participant (Majority Leader of the Senate), Huddle House Scholar Athlete of the Month, White County High School Wendy’s Heisman Award Winner, National Honor Society, Beta Club. Accepted at the University of Georgia, London has lettered in soccer, track and field and served as caption on the football team.
